Steve is the Chief Auditor for Global Mortgage and Holdings portfolios for Citibank. Steve has over 30 years of experience in financial services. In recent years, Steve has tapped into this experience to help his community. Steve serves on the Vision Team at MissionWay Church and the Board of Golden Panther Booster Club. He also facilitates “Dave Ramsey Financial Peace” to help families budget and manage money. Steve is committed to providing youth an opportunity to grow and seek new opportunities.
Ron serves as Pastor of Jacksonville-based MissionWay Church. Ron earned a BS in Elementary Education from Palm Beach Atlantic (FL) and a Master of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (TX). He was born in Jacksonville and is deeply committed to meeting the educational, social and spiritual needs of the community.
John Wilbanks is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Baptist Health, a not-for-profit locally governed health system serving the needs of Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. John serves on the Board of Directors of The Sulzbacher Center and is past Chair of its Health Services Committee. He is Chair of Brooks College of Health Dean’s Council and also serves on the Board of Trustees of Jacksonville University, Board of Governors of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and Co-Chairs the Health Strategy Council of United Way of Northeast Florida.
Maria Miller is currently a 5th grade teacher at a local Jacksonville elementary school. She has served on the Educational Leadership Team, Shared Decision Making Team and Foundation Team within the school. She was nominated for Teacher of the Year both in 2012 and 2013. Maria earned a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Florida. Passionate about the connection between community partners and schools, Maria believes that it truly does “take a village to raise a child.” In addition to teaching full time and leading Open Doors, Maria volunteers with The Arc Jacksonville, Grove House in Jacksonville, and Destiny Academy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Torri Fowler is currently a 4th grade teacher at a local Jacksonville elementary school and a mother of two. She has been the Science Lead at her school for the past nine years and is the Lead Coach and Facilitator of Girls on the Run at her school site. Torri earned a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from Jacksonville University with a minor in Dance Education. She is passionate about helping the “whole” child succeed, which is why she helps students with academics and physical fitness. In addition to teaching full time and assisting with Open Doors, Torri volunteers with Upward Cheerleading, Extended Day Tutoring and Helping Hands.
